PLAN: We are trying to be more visible in the community. This will involve reaching out to the press by inviting them to meetings and sending out press releases. We will get more involved with the Center for Children & Young Adults (CCYA) as one of the partners on the Kathy Myers Grant (led by North Marietta Rotary Club). We will be seeking matching grants from other organizations. We have also participated in Keep Smyrna Beautiful’s Adopt a Mile program for several years. Veteran member Bill Keappler has been instrumental in pushing the CART program in our club.
We will co-sponsor Smyrna Veterans Day and Smyrna Memorial Day since this practically guarantees getting our name in the newspaper. Sponsoring these events should also gets the Rotary logo in front of perhaps 1,500 to 2,000 Smyrna residents on the programs for these events.
We will contact publications such as the Smyrna Vinings Bright Side and the Marietta Daily Journal and the Smyrna Patch in order to get exposure for the Club’s activities.
We will submit PR to the District 6900 Newsletter.
Club President Narayan Sengupta will become a contributor to the Smyrna Patch, which will also help us get articles out to the public.
We hope that we can do projects with other Clubs and write some joint PR to invoke one or more Rotary Clubs.
ACTUAL RESULTS:
NOTE: Smyrna Rotary also did 15+ projects with other organizations. This helped to build awareness of Rotary.
Just a few actual examples follow:
Instead of this being a one day proclamation, the Mayor signed it for the entire month of February 2016.

This is from 2015; 2016's PR will be similar.
