Marietta Rotary and Marietta Kiwanis will host a joint service project in support of Children's Healthcare at Town Center on National Nurses Day, the first day of National Nurses Week (5/6/25). Volunteers will serve lunch to staff and conduct a "packing" project to serve children and parents who use the urgent care center and outpatient care center.
Please see the attached description of distraction bags as one idea for the packing activity. Other options to consider are pajama bag (kid's clothing, socks), snack bag (for kid and/or parent), laundry bag (for parent at the hospital), or reading bag for hospitalized kids & siblings. The two service clubs will provide the supplies and conduct the hands-on assembly activity in the community room of the facility at 625 Big Shanty Road in Kennesaw.
The staff appreciation lunch scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, 2025 will be either a catered meal or pre-packaged meal to feed 100 staff members. The serving & feeding period will be from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Approximate cost will be $2,500 to be split evenly between the two clubs..
Marietta Rotary and Marietta Kiwanis will coordinate press and social media announcements in late April and early May.
