100th Anniversary Literacy Gift to Our Community

To commemorate The Rotary Club of Marietta's 100th Anniversary, we have committed to giving every baby born in our local hospital, Kennestone, a book and a package on early childhood literacy. Each package contains several flyers on the importance of talking to your baby, reading to and working to have your child reading on grade level by 3rd grade. We developed a special logo and are calling this " Legacy of Love and Learning .- A Community Literacy Initiative"

We have partnered with the Rotary Club of Smyrna and our newly sponsored club, Atlanta Brasil on this project. We are prepared to provide approximately 5500 packages to families this year.

We had a kick off event in November, "Gin & Phonics" to announce the project to our community.

This has been an amazing public image event for Rotary Club of Marietta as we have been highlighted in all the major Metro Atlanta television news broadcasts as well as printed media.
